There are a basic few omissions in the version I’m writing about: It does lack some of the features in more advanced mentromes (like in Cubase or Digital Performer) such as providing specific patterns and multiple accents, however it is likely that if you need these features then you already have a solution. First Accent - Specify which beat should get the accent.Pitch for first note (not necessarily downbeat). It has most of the features you’d expect from a digital metronome. Off to the side a bit? Wider? It’s more useful than you may realize until you try it. Having a “Stereo” metronome sound for a bassist works incredible well, as they can easily focus on their instrument but get a feel for the timing. MMetronome gives you stereo control of the output. Width/Mid-Side - I’m harping on it, but contriving a click sound that is properly audible to the performer can be the difference between a good and great recording.Blinking, movement and opacity of the visual indicator are adjustable. The precise timing of the blink or reversal of direction MMetronome does optionally blink, but it has a pendulum style display that implies a vector rather than a point in time.

The temporal resolution is not sufficient to show the blinking effect at precise intervals. Visual (full screen) - Blinking visual metronomes on 60-120hz monitors are not great.Since it’s an effect, it can be directly on the bus/aux as well. Bussable - If you record multiple musicians, or like to have specific settings for recording certain parts, then you can bus/aux MMetronome instances out to where you need it.MIDI - Also accepts program change and CC to change presets.Different sound during the bridge? Got it. Got a chorus with fast 16ths and a laid back verse you want with a strong downbeat? Automate MMetronome to help you(r performer) along the way. Automatable - It’s an effect plugin, so you can automate (and modulate if your host supports) it.The ability to compress or transient shape the signal makes it possible to turn a barely audible click into an ear drum cutting implement to shine through the densest mixes. This means it can be effected to compress, EQ or throw on a delay for rhythmic variations. Processable - MMetronome can be placed on any track.(The only exception I can think of is Digital Performer.)ĭon’t be fooled by their simple image on the product page. MMetronome is probably better than whatever click or metronome that you’re using in your DAW already, and even if it’s not, there’s still a decent chance that it provides features that your Metronome does not.
